I love a sweet treat for breakfast on a Saturday morning, something to ease me into the weekend. This recipe is so quick and simple, and most definitely worth making.
Using my Gluten Free Bread Recipe from my previous post – scroll down the blog for info – (or use a couple of slices from your shop bought gluten free loaf), I slice two pieces of bread and make the following mixture for my French toast:
French Toast Recipe: How to Make French Toast | McCormick
1 egg
1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
65 mls Milk
Simply mix the ingredients together and then dip you slices of bread into them, making sure both sides are covered. Add the slices of bread to a hot, oiled frying pan – I just use a spray oil to coat the pan. Cook for a minute or two on each side until browned, then serve!
I love to add raspberries for a vitamin boost, then drizzle honey over the top for a sweet and fruity topping. An option to add a side scoop of crème fresh or Fat Free Greek Yoghurt, for dipping, then just enjoy. Simply delicious!
Gardening Tip:
When planting your seeds indoors, they need moisture to grow, but don’t overwater them or the seeds might just rot in the soil. Always use seedling compost where possible and buy a water spray bottle and use the mist setting. Use this daily to dampen the surface of the soil to keep the moisture level just right.
